Heidi Montag: Media Whore

How far would you go for attention? That is, if attention is what you crave. Certain reality stars, looking to extend their fifteen minutes, will do just about anything to get a little more time in the limelight.

Let's take a look at the ridiculous past stunts these quasi celebs have pulled to garner themselves a picture in the tabloids.

Paris Hilton: Has reportedly gained weight and lost weight just to give the tabloids something to gossip about. The intentional weight gain was also rumored to stir up pregnancy rumors. Also, hangs out with celebrities on their way down the path of destruction (Lindsey and Britney, a hem, a hem). Way to go Paris!

Nicole Richie: Parties like a rock star, dates within the small hollywood circle of young alchoholics, also uses her weight to get attention from the media. Is she or isn't she pregnant? Is she putting on weight? Goes to restaurants where paparazzi anticipate her presence so that she is photographed eating actual food. Have fun in jail Nicole...

Heidi Montag (The Hills): Got a nose job and breast implants. Dated a total loser, and got engaged to the most miserable person on reality television for media attention. The funny thing about this one is that the tabloids know this, and say it, but report it anyway. If you're going to act like you don't care... then don't publish it.

There is currently a poll going on at UsMagazine.com voting for team Heidi or Lauren. Guess what the current results with over ten thousand votes? 93% voted team Lauren. Also on Us's website, there is a video of Heidi working out. The Hills star showed Us Weekly how she achieved her sexy body at an Us Weekly photo shoot.

Reportedly, Montag felt that walking and occasional boxing weren't giving her the "dancer's body" she desired, she called up an L.A. trainer. Three months and six weekly hour-plus gym dates per week later, Montag says in the new issue of Us Weekly, “I’m more lean and my muscles are defined!”

Ahhhh, duh! Is she joking? Thank you Heidi Montag for letting me know that walking and occasional boxing isn't going to give me a dancer's body. If this reality tv dumb blonde was serious about getting a dancer's body, she would've known that Pilates and Yoga are the best classes to take. In what magazine has it EVER EVER EVER said, boxing and walking were even enough to really tone you? "Like OMG? I can''t believe I'm more lean and have more definition! Who knew lifting weight could provide results? Hee Hee."

To watch the video click here. Ugh vomit, I just realized it's called Heidi and Spencer's Workout Video. Don't click it if you hate them as much as I do.

As it turns out, you not only have to be incredibly shallow to get your name in a tabloid, but also extremely dumb. What will Heidi do next to get her name in a tabloid? Any other body alterations she just may start looking pretty.

And after 5 seasons, the Simple Life has been canceled, THANK GOD!

Penelope Cruz, L'Oreal Misleading Mascara Ads

Have you ever looked at a picture in an ad or commercial and thought to yourself, "Hey, that's not real. I need to do something about it." No? Me neither. Well, one woman called up the Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) and told them she thought Penelope Cruz’ eyelashes in a L’Oréal commercial were fake. Personally, I do not have enough time on my hands to do this but we could be on to something here. The ASA has ordered L’Oréal to add a disclaimer to ads with models wearing false lashes, citing that the ad is misleading.

The series of L’Oreal ads claimed that women could have up to 60 percent longer eyelashes with its Telescopic mascara under the moniker: “Lashes that could reach for the stars.” But Penelope was actually sporting faux lashes in the ads.

L’Oréal has been ordered to add a disclaimer to future advertisements featuring models wearing false lashes. I always debate what is actually true or if a photo is unaltered. I usually think celebrities lie when they give interviews as well, especially about what they eat and what they do for workouts. You should know this if you've read any of my previous blogs. I love to contradict the dumb celebrities that change their story depending on who is interviewing them.

Now that the ASA has ordered a company to let their potential buyers that no, your eyelashes will not look like this if you use our product, does that mean other companies or magazine covers should add disclaimers saying, "No, this person does not actually look like this, but a pretty sweet editing software helped them look this good."

This is a new precedent. For those who aren't familiar with this term, it means that if someone else brings up a similar case/issue/complaint, the ASA should follow suit with the previous ruling if the allegations are the same. I think this is a huge step towards the illusion advertisers try and create. Aren't all ads misleading after all? I can't believe the ASA ordered L'Oreal to do this. Seriously, think about it. If one stay at home mom can make this sort of small step, maybe ordinary people really can make a difference. Can we seriously start a protest that magazines need to let their readers know what is real and what is fake?

Lastly, I always wonder if in fact the makeup that models wears in a Covergirl ad is actually a Covergirl product. Like, if the ad was for lipstick, I can understand that the lipstick is probably Covergirl, but what about the rest of their face like mascara or foundation? That's misleading to me. I look at the model and then I try on the product and it's like night and day. If anyone knows the answer to this I would love to know. What else can we get the ASA to change about these advertisers that make beauty seem unattainable for the non-rich and famous?

Dakota Fanning Hits New Growth Spurt

Holy Shit!? When did Dakota Fanning turn into an awkward teenager? I feel like yesterday she was wearing those silly dresses that look like first communion gowns. Should we prepare to see her hitting up Les Deux?

Who's to blame? Rehab or Lohan?

So yesterday morning I couldn't peel myself away from my computer... How could Lindsey Lohan create such a crazy drama, packed with suspense on her own? If you own a TV, read the paper, or browse the internet, you must have heard by now about Looooooohan's 2nd DUI arrest in under 3 months. Talk about STUPIDITY at it's finest.

But seriously, everyone blames Lindsey because it's easy. However, I'm going to blame the ridiculous spa-resort Rehab centers. Either famous addicts go to rehab to "rehab" their image knowing very well they will not change their habits once they are free OR they truely want help and the rehab center fails to give it to them.

What do yo think? Are luxury rehab facilities significantly less effective or are the rich and famous reluctant to change?

I know this has little to do with diet, but it's a serious issue. Britney went to rehab and look at her right now. Great job Promises. Lindsey prolonged her stay in rehab and still could not resist the booze and drugs shortly after being released. Of course she is denying that the drugs were hers, but seriously Linds... no one believes you! There have been rumors about you doing blow for about 2 years now. Some one found your wallet with your license, black credit card, a rolled up dollar bill (maybe a $20, I forget) and a bag of cocaine. It was all over the internet, and before the days of your public outcries for help so, it was kept very under the radar.

I really think she wants help, but rehab in Malibu is not working, so celebrities... STOP GOING THERE if you're serious about getting clean.
